Cancer - NGR-Delivery Technology

Ambrilia has developed a targeted delivery technology that uses a proprietary peptide coupled with a carrier. This peptide specifically binds to a receptor expressed by many tumor cells which in turn triggers internalization of the carrier’s load into the cell.

NGR-Delivery Technology

Established proof of concepts

The Company has established a proof-of-concept with doxorubicin, a cytotoxic drug, showing its efficient delivery in animal solid tumor models. Also, a second proof-of-concept was demonstrated with a siRNA, showing efficient delivery to tumor cells in vitro and in vivo.

Data in animal tumor models showed efficient siRNA delivery to the tumor tissue, internalization and suppression of a cancer-promoting gene (oncogene). Such genes are essential to the growth of a number of tumors. In the past years, a number of oncogenes have been suppressed with RNA interference (RNAi), which can be achieved by siRNAs, showing the potential for therapeutic applications in humans.
