Richard La Rue, LL.L, D.D.N.

Interim President & CEO

Mr. La Rue is a lawyer with more than 30 years of national and international experience, both as private practitioner and corporate counsel.  He has managed all legal aspects of and executed complex national and cross-border merger and acquisitions and private and public equity transactions.  Since joining Procyon in 2001, which became Ambrilia in March 2006, Mr. La Rue has managed the company's legal affairs and human resources and has acted as Corporate Secretary.  On July 29, 2009 Mr. La Rue was appointed interim President and CEO.

Prior to joining Ambrilia, Mr. La Rue was Legal Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for PCI Chemicals Canada Inc. from 1998 to 2001, and also acted as Secretary of Canso Chemicals Inc. and as Assistant Secretary of Pioneer Companies Inc. and Pioneer Americas, Inc. From 1996 to 1998, he was a member of international consultant teams in World Bank and CIDA sponsored projects advising the Republic of Congo and to the Government of Indonesia. From 1987 to 1996, he was Senior Solicitor with Canadian Pacific Ltd., and prior to that he was a private practitioner in civil and commercial law. Mr. La Rue holds a License in law and a Notarial law degree from the University of Montreal. He is a member of the Quebec Bar and of the Canadian Bar Association.

Brian Davies, C.A.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Davies is a Chartered Accountant with more than 40 years of business experience. He joined Ambrilia (then Procyon) in 2001 as Director, Finance and Controller and was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Ambrilia in July 2009. Prior to joining Ambrilia, Mr. Davies was employed by Wood Wyant Inc. from 1994 to 2000 as Director, Financial Reporting and Controller. Earlier, he had been in private practice from 1990 to 1994 and had been Assistant Corporate Controller of Domtar Inc. from 1980 to 1989. Mr. Davies is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and l’Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and has lectured in financial accounting at McGill University in Montreal since 1990.
